The work featured on this page represents a small sampling of my own design work and that which I participated in in a significant capacity while practicing in an architectural firm. These projects share an approach that is investigative in nature, with each attempting to test either a methodological, technical or construction based agenda. The diversity represented here, expresses the diverse set of interests that I have in the field of architecture. These projects when coupled with the other work represented on this site form who I am as a designer and an educator.

AHWest
This gallery exhibition documents the 100 year history of the Clemson University School of Architecture. Graphically resembling a newspaper the exhibit utilizes advanced printing techniques and is suspended over the gallery floor with a series of laser cut steel beams. Occupying the gallery for 30 days the exhibition hosted a series of events provided a space for current students to contextualize their education and for alumni to reflect on their own.

A small craft brewery in Charlotte, North Carolina; this project seeks to create a diverse experience in a small space with minimal intervention and subtle design moves.

A pro-bono project, this No-Kill Animal shelter leverages a very modest budget to satisfy the clients needs but cleverly employs construction logic, materiality and passive environmental systems to create a pleasant environment for pets and people alike.

Occupying an abandoned construction site previously ordained to house the tallest building in North America, the site consists of a massive hole and surrounding piers. Employing a parametric and mathematic design approach the proposal creates an articulated area of repose as a place of remembrance for the financial crisis that halted nearly all construction in Chicago in the first decade of the 21st Century.
A 500,000 barrel brewering facility situated along the French Broad River in Asheville, North Carolina, reinterprets industrial architecture and attempts to blend with its surroundings by managing the volume of the building and being environmentally responsible.

A vacation home for a local entrepreneur the Yelton Residence fractures interior and exterior volumes to create a fluid configuration of space; ideally oriented on its private peninsula it capitalizes on dynamic views and a hybridized approach to space for living and entertaining.
In the anticipation of a significant rise in sea level this project explores the protection and inundation the Bay Area and the city of San Francisco. Instead of trying to hold back the sea this proposal instead attempts to remediate the impacts made by humanity and reduce the disastrous rise of pollution into the oceans that will occur as sea levels continue to rise.
An exploration into parametric assembly, the Art Fund Pavilion competition entry employs a previously fabricated system to create a spatial volume. Employing digital fabrication methodologies and prefabrication techniques the articulation, geometry and fabrication of the pavilion is entirely controlled by a single script.
